Megan Haughey graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, with a BA in History. After graduation she was hired as the Phillipsburg High School Girls' Basketball Coach in Phillipsburg, NJ, and was also hired as a Social Studies teacher.
 
In 2005, Megan enrolled as a graduate student at Rutgers University and began her career in Student Affairs and Residence Life, being employed by Rutgers as a Hall Director. In 2006, Megan also began to teach two courses at Rutgers for first year students entitled, "Shaping a Life" and "Building Communities Through Leadership and Understanding."  In 2006, Megan and longtime friend Katie Terhune co-founded Hunterdon United AAU organization, which is a not for profit youth basketball organization in Clinton, NJ.
 

 
Megan has a passion for international service travel, which began in 2001 with her Habitat for Humanity Alternate Spring Break trip to Honduras. Since that time Megan has studied abroad on the Semester at Sea program through the University of Virginia, traveling to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Tanzania, South Africa, Brazil and Cuba. Megan has also completed independent and Habitat trips to Poland, Puerto Rico, Italy, France, and St. Lucia.
